Cultural appropriation is nothing bad in general and is normal cultural transformation. However, when power dominance, racism and discrimination are involved, as in yoga, it is important to be aware of this. I therefore ask myself how I, as a privileged white, slim, normative woman, can contribute to decolonising yoga.
Yoga has been commercialised, capitalised and westernised.
It helps me at the moment to talk about it and bring attention to the issue. I am very happy about an exchange. Feel free to write me via email or Instagram.
